Graduate aiming for a career in Politics and Research

24/01/2025

A graduate from the University of Wolverhampton has set her sights on pursuing a career in politics and research after graduating.

Imade Ekunwe, 24, from Nigeria, studied for a Master’s in Health and Social Care and has future ambitions of becoming a leader in research and politics. Imade also has her own business in event planning/management.

Reflecting on her time at the University, Imade said: “Studying Health and Social Care helped me bond with individuals, from organising study groups to having a supportive module team who were there to answer my questions

“I’ve enjoyed every moment and with every bit living up to the University’s motto of being the ‘University of Opportunity.’  My first work experience in the UK was at the University working as a Student Ambassador.

“As a result of taking up opportunities and taking the initiative, my research and communication skills have improved vastly.”

For anyone thinking of studying at the University of Wolverhampton, Imade said: “If you’re thinking of studying at the University then go for it.

“The support I received was incredible not just from staff but also from fellow students. Because of my experience at the University, some of my friends have gone on to join the University of Wolverhampton.”
