UOW Sports & Exercise Therapy Clinics are back and bigger than before!

Student led injury clinics to return from Monday 8 April at the new health and performance gym, Walsall Campus.

The University of Wolverhampton Sport & Exercise therapy students from the BSc Sport & Exercise Therapy course had a successful run of their injury clinics before Christmas. We are pleased to inform you that they will return after Easter and they are bigger and better than before.

For the final 6 weeks of term we will offer 4 different clinics that will hope to meet the needs of a range of different clients. As well as the sports injury clinic we will also be introducing a sports massage clinic, exercise rehabilitation clinic and a health and fitness clinic.

Sports Injury Clinic: The student-led injury clinics are open to all staff and students with an injury or any physical discomfort which may benefit from having an assessment. In this clinic as well as a thorough assessment of the injury students will offer the best management for your issue which may include a range of manual therapy techniques, exercise and education.

Sports Massage Clinic: The student-led massage clinics are open to all staff and students who require a sports massage. This clinic is ideal for those who would like to improve mobility, recover after a sporting event or to relieve stress. The students will go through a thorough consultation and assessment and then apply the best soft tissue treatment for you.

Exercise Rehabilitation Clinic: This student-led clinic is open to all staff and students who are recovering from musculoskeletal injury. This clinic includes a thorough assessment of the condition along with assessing your current fitness status. The students will then plan out a progressive exercise plan that will help you fully recover from injury and help you achieve a return to sport or activities of daily living. This clinic has restricted numbers and requires a 6 week commitment so if you are interested please sign up as quick as possible.

Health & Fitness Clinic: This student led clinic is open to all staff and students who want to develop their general health and fitness. This can be anything from losing weight for a special occasion, improving health for a longer, stronger life or improving performance in sport. Whatever your goal the students will do a thorough consultation reviewing your current fitness levels and goals and plan a progressive exercise plan to help you achieve your goals. This clinic has restricted numbers and requires a 6 week commitment so if you are interested please sign up as quick as possible.

The University's student-led Sport and Exercise Therapy clinics will restart from Monday 8 April and continue to run each week during term time.
