Research in Childhood, Families, Diversity and Inclusion

Members of the hub share the University of Wolverhampton’s commitments to valuing human diversity, promoting equality, and fostering inclusive culture through our practice and research activity. Research in this hub aims to support developments and understanding in the causes of inequality and barriers to diversity in all areas of education and of society more widely. Members of the hub have a wide range of interests that include childhood to youth research, family and community research, social disadvantage and marginalisation, inclusive education, Special Educational Needs, gender, ethnic diversity, barriers to learning for children and young people, parental support and multiagency working. Current projects in this hub include two projects on inclusive education in Indonesia (funded by the British Council) and Ukraine (supported by UUKi and funded by Research England). These projects investigate what inclusion means in theory and practice, considering the cultural, social, historical, and geographical context of each country and investigates possibilities for development. We welcome opportunities to collaborate externally in any of the hub’s areas of interest.
