Civil Engineering graduates return for reunion
Civil Engineering alumni from the University of Wolverhampton returned to the city recently for a reunion event.
This year’s reunion was the second annual event to be held at the University’s Springfield Campus.
The group, who all studied Civil Engineering and graduated between 2014 and 2024, joined staff at the University to share stories of their career journeys.
Asiha Khan, who graduated in 2018, joined the Kia Graduate Scheme following her studies and is now working on the HS2 project.
She said: “The fundamentals of University form what you need in your career. The University of Wolverhampton was a basis for developing who I am. My confidence was low when I joined the course and over the years the lecturers taught me a lot and built my confidence."
Dr Alaa Hamood, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Wolverhampton and event organiser, said: “It was wonderful to welcome graduates back on campus and to hear more about the careers they have gone on to enjoy. We look forward to hosting this event again next year and working with alumni further on opportunities to collaborate with the University."
David Wedge, Acting Head of Alumni Relations at the University, said: “It was lovely to welcome back so many Civil Engineering graduates back to campus for this event. We are always keen to learn about the career journeys and successes of our alumni and encourage everyone to stay in touch and keep us updated.”
After graduation, graduates become members of the Alumni Association and are encouraged to keep in touch, to take advantage of a wide range of benefits and support on offer, including a discount for postgraduate study.
