University tees up with city golf club
The University of Wolverhampton has partnered with Oxley Park Golf Club to launch an exclusive new offer for students.
Oxley Park Golf Club has launched a brand-new affordable student membership exclusive to students studying at the University of Wolverhampton.
The twelve-month membership will enable students to have unlimited access to the golf club with its 18-hole course and state-of-the-art club facilities for the equivalent of only £5 per week over 12 months.
The University’s WLV Sport team reached out to the golf club to expand its student offer to encourage students to explore sports and activities off-campus and develop new skills.
Lee Hardwick, WLV Sport’s Sports Development Officer at the University of Wolverhampton said: “Here at the University, we’re always looking for ways to expand our sporting offer for our students as well as supporting local clubs.
“With Oxley Park Golf right on our doorstep at our City Campus, and students calling out for new activities – it made perfect sense to explore how we could work together to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their golf skills.
“I’m pleased we have been able to launch this fantastic offer for our students and I look forward to working with the club further in the new year as we encourage more students to participate in the sport.”
Craig Thomas, PGA Head Professional at Oxley Park Golf Club said: “Our offer of unlimited golf membership for the equivalent of only £5 per week over a year is open to full-time students aged up to 25. We want to encourage young people to play golf and the new partnership is a fantastic opportunity for students.
“In the New Year, we’ll also be running sessions for the University’s students who are new to golf, using our extensive practice facilities.”
A range of sessions for students will be introduced in the New Year to learn a new skill or improve existing abilities using the facilities at Oxley Park.
