Assessment Support

As the January’s assessment season begins, remember the Library and Skills for Learning are here to help you.

Exams, and the Assessment period in general, are never easy. They can be stressful and overwhelming, but they don’t have to be and there are plenty of things you can do to help you prepare, both academically, mentally, and physically.

Here's a reminder of all the support available to you from the Library:

  • Academic skills workshops run from Monday to Saturday and are friendly online sessions delivered by our Skills for Learning team. There is a wide range of workshops for you to explore including some great sessions to help you prepare for completing your assignments, e.g. Introduction to Academic WritingFinding Academic Information and Harvard Referencing. Find out more here: www.wlv.ac.uk/lib/skills-for-learning/skills-workshops-sessions/
  • Drop-ins also run from Monday to Friday. Here you can have a short chat and discuss ways to improve your writing, referencing or other academic skills. See here for details: wlv.ac.uk/lib/skills-for-learning/one-to-one-support/
  • Struggling to plan your time? We'd recommend speaking with us about putting together a study schedule. You can do this at the drop-in, or via email at skills@wlv.libanswers.com
  • Prefer to learn at your own pace? We have a great collection of online support resources, FAQsstudy guides, and shorter video tutorials if you'd prefer to learn at your own pace.
  • Finally, head over to our Library Exam and Assessment Support pages for guidance and advice to help you through the upcoming assessment period.
