Podcast: Adapting your business model during the pandemic/lockdown

02/07/2020

The University of Wolverhampton Business School is committed to helping regional businesses find new ways to recover and adapt in the current crisis, through sharing our knowledge and expertise during this unprecedented time.

The pandemic has presented a significant number of challenges for businesses across the UK. Whilst leaders try to diversify their businesses, encourage resilience and think under pressure, it has been the “ultimate test of management and leadership”.

We have developed a package of support, the “Covid-19 Business Support Hub”, part of Executive Education (www.wlv.ac.uk/execed), resourced by a number of academic volunteers. This provides a variety of live E-Clinic events, podcasts, and blogs to help businesses;  develop new ways of working and support their teams through these challenging times; steer the business through current business challenges and prepare for the future;  and identify practical solutions to ensure the business thrives through demonstrating resilience and innovation.

The Business School has launched the first episode of its Adapting Business Models podcast. The Adapting Business Models Podcasts series focuses on how business have adapted their business model in light of COVID-19, so that we can share success stories and help other businesses to innovate.

In this episode, University of Wolverhampton Business School Lecturer Lisa Burbidge-Brown interviews Manoj Koeri from Manoj Yoga.

They discuss:

  • the impact of Covid-19 lockdown on his business
  • how he has had to adapt his business model, marketing and delivery of his classes
  • what the benefits and drawbacks have been of the move to online delivery
  • how he is giving back to NHS front line workers
  • his plans for continuing his business after lockdown is eased.
