Degree Apprentices lead the way

06/02/2020

A new group of aspiring leaders are the latest to take their skills to the next level with a Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Wolverhampton.

The Senior Leaders Master’s Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA) is designed for senior managers with responsibility for the strategic leadership and direction of their organisation or department.

A new cohort of 19 students including representatives from Shropshire County Council and Staffordshire County Council recently started the Degree Apprenticeship, which is suitable for those working in the private, public and third sectors and for companies of any size.

Helen Leake is one of the new Apprentices from Staffordshire County Council. She said: “I have completed traditional types of study in the past. What’s different with an Apprenticeship for me is the fact it’s more pragmatic and reality based so I have got the ability to demonstrate key skills, expand my knowledge and put them into practice in my day job.”
