More Information

BA(Hons) Film and Television Production is the largest course in what was the School of Media and remains one of the largest courses in the new Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences (FABSS).

The course in its various iterations has a very long history within the University’s arts provision. Reputationally we are quite well known amongst the Deaf community for offering an inclusive teaching and learning experience on our course. Deaf and hearing students work well together and many go on to work together professionally once they graduate. We expect faculty and university marketing and outreach to want to promote our students’ and graduates’ successes because it builds alumni confidence, teacher referrals and should help us to recruit new students, be they Deaf or hearing, interested in studying in an inclusive environment.

William Horsefield graduated in 2018, and Samuel Ash graduated in 2019.  It can take up to five years for creative industries graduates to gain real traction within what is largely a portfolio led industry. So it is remarkable that these individuals have made headway so soon after graduation. BSL Zone is the primary on line broadcaster specialising in British Sign Language content for Deaf audiences.
