19/09/2019

A business leader has been recognised by the University of Wolverhampton for his lifetime achievements in industry.

Keith Bradshaw OBE, Chairman of Listers Group, received an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration at a graduation ceremony at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.

Keith received the award on Thursday, 19 September 2019 in recognition of his various business achievements, including growing Listers into England's largest independent dealer group.

He said: "Although born in Birmingham I came to Wolverhampton over 50 years ago having married a local girl, and apart from developing an affection for the City I have also had the privilege of working with the University over a number of years in my capacity as lead Deputy Lieutenant for Wolverhampton.  I have been impressed with the energy and vision that is propelling the University, particularly given the incredibly high percentage of graduates securing work or advanced studies."

Keith was born in Birmingham and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. In 1969, he joined the Mesurado Group, and in 1976 returned to Birmingham where he set up a number of companies.

Keith has interests in motor dealerships as chairman of Listers Group, electronic manufacturing through Laney Headstock Distribution, and a family property business.

He has been involved in various positions with a number of charities, was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands in 2012 and served as High Sheriff of the West Midlands 2016/17.

He is involved in a number of initiatives which acknowledge his great debt to and passion for the region. He was awarded the OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Honorary awards are presented by the University of Wolverhampton to people who have made a significant contribution to their field of expertise.

The University's graduation ceremonies take place at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, from Thursday, 12 September to Friday, 20 September 2019.
