Postgraduate: Natasha Means Business

27/11/2019

“My career has developed so much since studying for a Master’s Degree in Business Administration – I’ve applied a lot of the learning to my work and I’ve achieved a number of promotions.”

Natasha Dupree, 33 from Wolverhampton, has recently completed a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and has shown that she means business by scooping a prestigious award.

A Senior Commissioning Manager in the NHS working for Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG and mother of two children, Natasha studied part time for her Master’s Degree at the University of Wolverhampton.

She said: “I started this course on the challenge route which is for people who haven’t studied for an undergraduate degree so coming straight into the postgraduate course was an eye-opener.

“My career has developed so much during my Master’s. I had some really good lecturers and there’s lots of support there for people. I was told to just believe in myself and I’ll go far.

“I’ve applied a lot of the learning to my work and since then I’ve achieved a number of promotions and am looking to further my career in the NHS.”

The course was funded by her employer and Natasha studied over a two year period supervised by Dr Jan Firth. She is due to graduate in December 2019 with a Distinction.

Natasha was presented with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Rosebowl Award for producing the best postgraduate dissertation at the University of Wolverhampton Business School’s 26th Annual Crystal Lecture held in partnership with the CMI.

The lecture was presented by the CEO of Bentley Motors, Adrian Hallmark, a graduate of the University.

She said:  “I was overwhelmed and humbled to have been selected to receive the award.  It was an incredible night, especially as I got a chance to chat with Adrian Hallmark.”
