MARIA VASILIOU: International law student raises the bar

MARIA VASILIOU, 23 from Cyprus has raised the bar on her aspirations to become a law academic by graduating from the University of Wolverhampton with a Master’s Degree of Laws (International Business Law) in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Maria is continuing her education by enrolling on a PhD programme in Law at the University. Having joined the Master’s course a year ago, Maria has learned English and has found that the course has helped her in lots of different ways.

She said: “I’m very excited to be here.  All my hard work has paid off and I’m proud of myself.  My next step is to become an academic.  I’ve achieved my goal of getting a distinction and have met a lot of people from different countries.

“I chose the University in England because there are a lot more opportunities here than in Cyprus.  My advice to students is to have fun, but also manage their time, set targets at the start of the year and achieve them.”
