Register with the MHW Team

Students must complete a registration form to access support from the team- 23/24 MHW Registration Form . (Students will need to be logged into their university account to access the registration from). 

Once the team receives a registration form; we will review it and contact the student within two working days. We will contact the student via phone initially and if we are unable to get through will contact via the students university email.

We may offer an assessment appointment; discussion around challenges and co-development of a support plan with you. As an outcome of this assessment we may recommend referral to other services, attendance to bespoke workshops and/or additional 1:1 support sessions with the team. 

Contact the team through MHWenquiries@wlv.ac.uk (include your student number) if you are unable to access the registration form.

Crisis support

Our University Mental Health and Wellbeing support team is not an emergency service and is not a 24/7 service.  Should you require immediate support please see our need help now page.

The Multi-faith Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy supports the spiritual, cultural and pastoral needs of students and staff.

The Chaplains are available as a confidential means of support if you ever need to chat. We meet with people in person and online; host events to build understanding between communities and develop friendships; and offer advice and training in relation to religion and faith.

Student Funding Support 

The university has significant funding in place to support students who are struggling with financial hardship, including the Dennis Turner Hardship Fund, a range of specific bursaries, and emergency loans.

Student Funding England

If you have issues with Student Funding England you will need to call them on 0300 100 0607.  See our SFE guidance page for advice.

Change in your study

If you have a change in your study, (i.e. change of course, mode of study, change of cohort) and this is affecting your funding, you will need to log Helpcall to ASK@WLV in e:Visionor call 01902 518518; or visit one of the on-campus Helpdesks to speak to someone in person. Care Leavers/Estranged Students

 Specialised support and advice is available for:

  • Care Leavers (students who have previously been in the care of a Local Authority for 12 weeks or more around their 16th birthday)
  • Estranged Students (aged 25 or under) who have no communicative relationship with either living biological parent.

  Students can register for support, at any time, by completing the Registration and Consent Form.
