Coronavirus Student Update: Additional Assessment FAQs: Friday 27 March 2020

Assessments

We are aware that you have lots of questions about forthcoming assignments and some of you have worries that, due to the current situation with COVID-19, you might need some extra time to submit your work.

We do encourage you to do your best to submit your assessment through Canvas in line with the original deadline  – it is always good to tick things off the to do list.  We appreciate, however, that many students will be encountering difficulties that mean they cannot submit on time.  Moreover, there are likely to be difficulties in obtaining medical evidence.    Therefore, we have introduced a two week extension that will be granted automatically should you need to take it. 

This two-week extension is for all assessment types (including dissertations). This includes both first attempt and resit dates from March 2020 until the start of the next academic year (September 2020).  The two week extension is already reflected in the deadline date shown on Canvas.

Students who consider they require a further extension beyond two weeks can request this through the task in e:vision. 

If you normally get a student support and wellbeing extension this will still apply in addition to the two weeks.

We have uploaded some additional FAQs to the University’s dedicated web page about assignment deadlines and dissertations in an attempt to clarify some of the details for you. 

Remember, you should aim to complete your assessment and submit it by the original deadline given to you wherever possible.

The COVID-19 pandemic remains a dynamic and fast moving situation and the University will continue to make decisions about student teaching and assessment in this context in the short term.

Students Union Sabbatical Officer Elections

The Students’ Union Sabbatical Officer Elections are taking place with voting closing at the end of this week. Candidates are campaigning for the four full-time Sabbatical Officer positions and the part-time role of Union Chair.  Vote now: https://www.wolvesunion.org/vote/
