Student Update: Covid-19 January 2021 Testing

Please be aware that this information was shared with students by email and correct at the time of sending. For the latest Covid-19 guidance, please visit our coronavirus webpages: www.wlv.ac.uk/coronavirus. If you are a student who has a query or needs support, please log a helpcall with ASK@WLV in e:Vision (www.wlv.ac.uk/evision).

As the Christmas and New Year festive season approach and staff and students sign off for well-deserved holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for co-operating with all of our measures which have ensured that the University of Wolverhampton has remained Covid-secure this term.

We recently informed you that our courses will have a phased return to on campus teaching in January, you can access the full Student Update here. We know that face to face teaching is important to our students, and we are committed to continuing to deliver blended learning next term.

To ensure your safety and the safety of our wider community, we are strongly encouraging students to get an asymptomatic Covid-19 test before they return to campus in January.

Asymptomatic testing has been established to counter the hidden spread of Covid-19 by those who have no symptoms. This is important because you may have the virus without knowing and inadvertently pass it on to your loved ones, friends or colleagues.

By taking part in the testing, you will help us detect asymptomatic cases. This will help us to stop the spread of the virus and protect our University community.

Please note that the testing arrangements outlined below are only for students with no symptoms. If you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, you should self isolate immediately, call 119 or visit gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test to arrange a free NHS test. Please visit our Covid-19 Reporting Procedures webpage for more information.
